(More customer reviews)I found this item (the large size) at Ross for around $5. The idea is great, the execution not so much. It "adjusts" to let you choose the thickness of the patty. But adjusting the patty size, and "dispensing" the patty once it's formed, are almost impossible for two reasons: (1) the two plastic cylinders "stick," and do not move smoothly against each other and (2) your hands get SLIPPERY in the process of forming the patties (even with lean ground turkey) so you can't get a good grip on the two plastic cylinders. So, concept 5 stars; execution 0 stars. I just put mine in the garbage. /:o[

Nordic Ware Microwave 2 Cavity Egg Poacher Review

(1) The instructions aren't on the product itself.
(2) I still prefer poached eggs on the stove.
However, perhaps this will help those of you struggling with why the darn thing won't work for YOU:
(1) Most instructions are written for 700 watt microwaves.
(2) Your microwave is likely not 700 watts if your results are bad. (Assuming you follow the other instructions re water, piercing the yolk, etc.)
(3) If you don't know the wattage of your oven, use this chart -- http://www.microwavecookingforone.com/Charts/Wattage.html -- and a cup of water to determine your wattage.
(4) Once you have your wattage, use this chart -- http://www.microwavecookingforone.com/Charts/ChartsFrom700.html -- and select YOUR oven's wattage then go to that chart to determine the correct cooking time for you.
For example, my oven is 1100 watts (I cheated and looked at the manual, but I should boil water now and again in case it changes):
Step 1 -- I go to the chart for 1100 watt conversion from 700 watt here -- http://www.microwavecookingforone.com/Charts/Chart1100.html.
Step 2 -- On the packaging AND on the company website for this product, they say that two eggs should be 1 minute 15 seconds. I look for 1 minute 15 seconds and find that I should actually cook them in MY microwave for 48 seconds.
Step 3 -- I follow the rest of the instructions (1/2 teaspoon of water per egg, pierce the yolk once, close the device firmly, leave it shut for at least 30 seconds or more afterward so the whites will cook completely), then voila, perfect poached eggs (except, yes, the bottoms are rounded).
My microwave has a rotating glass plate, so your results may vary unless you have one of those or you invest in one of the micro-go-round type products. I suspect that is what makes both eggs cook evenly.
Hope that helps. Heck, for $2.00, this little thing works like a charm.

Wilton Recipe Right Mini Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I should have written this review earlier, I would have given it a higher rating...but I have since found the Williams Sonoma Gold Touch Line (their previous one, manufactured by Chicago Metallic), and those mini pans just deliver the most awesome browning ever, so this little Wilton guy will probably rarely get used. I would highly recommend Chicago Metallic if you can find their mini pans. BUT, if you are just wanting middle-of-the-line basic baking wares, this size is great. I like splitting recipes by 4 and making a small loaf to give away or just for my husband and I. The small size really curbs over-eating most of the time. Or you can buy four of these, which will be equivalent to a regular loaf pan, and just divide the batter from a regular recipe into all four pans.

(More customer reviews)I had some round cake cooling racks but alas after all these year some of the wires were coming off and another reason for ordering...I only had two round racks. Sometimes I bake 3 round layers and I hate wrestling with the oblong racks for a round cake.
Was I surprised when these arrived. Large than my old pair...will hold the largest cake I'll ever bake..13" in diameter and teflon coated. I am delighted with the price and quality (what can you expect from Nordic?) of these mundane cake racks. Fast shipment also!

(More customer reviews)I love this Pyrex set--though it's not a huge set, with just the 3 pieces, but they work so well together and are so incredibly handy that it's more helpful than many "sets." The key is how well the lid attaches to the pans, keeping everything inside warm and making transport especially simple. It may be hard to believe, but I made a giant dish of macaroni and cheese in the square pan to take to a dinner party, and it must have weighed 5 pounds, but when I snapped that lid on, it was super easy to carry, and the handle never got hot. Really fantastic. The pans are nice too, sturdy and tough, with some of the best non-stick I've ever worked with--I used the muffin pan to make mini broccoli frittatas to take to a brunch and they slid right out (and, again, the lid kept them warm during transport). If you ever take food places (to parties, to work, to your family) then I strongly suggest this set, as well as if you're just looking for a few good baking pans.

Nordic Ware Pancake Pans Review

(More customer reviews)I was a bit hesitant to buy after reading a couple of the reviews but was willing to take a chance. I really don't see why there was any negative comments about it. As long as you spray your pan first, there is no issue with sticking. You will have issues if you try to turn them before they are cooked on one side but that's true regardless of your pan. I even used a waffle recipe on this rather than a pancake recipe and it was just fine.
I can't wait to surprise my granddaughters at breakfast time! It takes so little to make them happy yet the memories last for years. I only get to see them once a year since they live far away, but throughout the year they talk about the special breakfasts Oma fixes for them. I always have something unique at breakfasts & they've come to expect it as tradition. In time, I'd like to get some of the other pans just for the variety...And the thing is my husband & I are kids at heart so we'll use them even when the little ones aren't here.

Nordic Ware 3D Great Pumpkin Pan Review

(More customer reviews)Williams sonoma was first to commission this pan's creation from nordic ware and that's when I got mine. It was also featured on the cover of Country Living magazine 2 years ago and the country went gaga over it! It's an absolutely fabulous pan. I used mine for Thanksgiving and golly, what a centerpiece! Even made rolled fondant for the leaves and stem. However, chocolate fudge works well too for the stem, vanilla tinted green for the leaves. This was very easy to make, it stays together very nicely, and is quite the awe-inspiring dish to take to your Thanksgiving gathering. Before I got it, I thought it would be hard to get it out of the pan in one piece, but it was (okay I HAVE to say this!) a PIECE OF CAKE! If you're into making a jack-o-lantern, you can cut orange jelly candy in the shape of a mouth, eyes, nose, etc. There's also a recipe sheet that comes with the pan. The Williams Sonoma version is glazed a little more prettier and I think it makes the cake pop out easier. I'm thrilled to have it and just bought the loaf pan to go with it! Plus, Nordicware is made here in the USA. Great stuff, highly, highly recommend!

(More customer reviews)This is a great value for the money. I was able to get the temperature down inside my stereo cabinet from 100 degrees to 85 degrees. The fan is very quiet. I mounted it in the back of the cabinet. I cannot hear it at all from the front of the cabinet. The kit comes with a fan, two grills (front and back), a mounting plate, an AC adapter and the screws to put it all together. One minor note, I had much better results when I configured it to blow cool air into the cabinet than I did when I configured it to draw hot air out. I recommend you take a "before" and "after" temperature and try the fan both ways to see which works best for you.

I still love these a year later. Two inserts fit nicely in a 19 X 14 X 4 sheet cake box - I put a cake board in the bottom of the box for sturdiness and was able to transport four dozen cupcakes in two boxes. I'm really glad I bought these.***********************************

I'm going to need to transport two dozen decorated cupcakes to a baby shower in a couple of weeks, so I finally broke down and decided to buy a cupcake carrier.
I couldn't do it. None of the carriers I looked at were worth the $20+ dollars to me, especially for a need I have maybe once every couple of months. The combination cupcake/cake carrier only transported 12 cupcakes (!) and the two-tiered models made me paranoid because I wasn't sure there'd be enough room to accommodate cupcakes with tall frosting, picks, etc, or they made it difficult to remove the cupcakes without ruining the icing. The disposable cupcake carriers similar to the ones used by supermarket bakeries turned out to be ridiculously expensive once you took shipping into account.
These inserts are the ideal solution.
They're made of thin, flexible plastic (a little more flexible than the type of plastic that supermarket baked goods are packaged in) and are meant to be used as inserts in a 10" X 14" cake box. Each insert holds 12 standard-size cupcakes. The inserts are only 1/2" high, so depending on the box you use, the cupcakes are easy to remove. The inserts are washable, though I doubt they're dishwasher-safe.
Since I didn't feel like spending $6-$9 on cake boxes that couldn't be used again, I found 10" X 14" plastic storage boxes with hinged lids (also sold on Amazon), and after trimming the plastic borders of the inserts to fit in the box lid (to make cupcake removal easier), I've got transport for 2 dozen cupcakes for under $25, shipping included. Plus, I've got two extra inserts in case I need them - handy, since I sometimes get more than 2 dozen cupcakes out of a recipe - *plus*, the storage boxes can be used for other things when I'm not using them to store cupcakes.
Another plus: there's enough plastic around the border that the inserts can easily be trimmed to 9" X 12" to fit, for instance, a 9" X 13" cake pan or cookie sheet (though not a 9" X 13" Pyrex casserole dish - the bottom's not true to that measurement.) If you're willing to lose some cupcake room, you can trim it even smaller.
A great investment. I'd buy these inserts again and would definitely recommend them instead of a large dedicated cupcake carrier.
